Referral Program Terms

Quick summary: Refer the right people, earn real USDC. Rewards are paid within 48 hours of qualifying activity, cap at the amounts below, and expire after 90 days. Fraud results in immediate forfeiture and account suspension.

1. Program overview

The Waiting Referral Program ("Program") rewards existing users ("Referrers") who invite new users ("Referred Users") to join the Waiting platform. Rewards are paid in USDC and credited directly to your Waiting wallet.

Participation in the Program is voluntary and subject to these terms and the main Terms of Service.

3. How to refer

Your unique referral link and QR code are available in the app under Profile → Share & Refer. Share this link or code with people you'd like to invite. A referral is attributed to you when a new user signs up using your link or scans your QR code and completes their first qualifying action within 30 days of sign-up.

4. Qualifying conditions

To qualify for a referral reward, all of the following must be true:

The Referred User must be a genuinely new user — no existing Waiting account under any email, phone number, or device.
The Referred User must complete registration, including age verification and Terms acceptance.
The qualifying event (first tip sent or received) must occur within 30 days of the Referred User's registration date.
For Server → Server tip-share: tips must be organic, voluntary tips from genuine patrons. Auto-tips that the referred server set up themselves, and tips from accounts controlled by the referrer, do not count.
The Referrer's account must be in good standing (not suspended, restricted, or under investigation) at the time of reward payout.

5. Reward payment

Qualifying rewards are calculated and credited to your Waiting wallet within 48 hours of the qualifying event. Server → Server tip-share rewards are calculated daily throughout the 30-day window and paid out in a single credit at the end of the window (or at the cap, whichever comes first).

Credited rewards appear in your wallet as "Referral Reward" and can be used for tips or withdrawn subject to the standard 6.5% withdrawal fee.

6. Reward expiry

Referral reward credits expire 90 days after they are issued. Expired credits are forfeited and cannot be reinstated. You will receive an in-app notification 7 days before any credit is set to expire.

7. Prohibited conduct

The following are strictly prohibited and will result in immediate forfeiture of all referral rewards, account suspension, and may result in permanent banning:

Self-referral: Creating additional accounts to refer to yourself, or referring household members, business partners, or anyone who will share in your reward.
Fake accounts: Creating or assisting in the creation of fake accounts to generate referral credits.
Tip manipulation: Coordinating tips between accounts for the purpose of inflating Server → Server tip-share rewards.
Spam: Mass-distributing your referral link through unsolicited messages, spam emails, or in violation of any platform's terms of service.
Incentivized sign-ups beyond the Program: Offering your own cash, credits, or other compensation to new users in exchange for using your referral link, beyond the Program rewards described herein.

8. Program modifications and termination

Waiting reserves the right to modify the reward structure, qualifying conditions, or any other aspect of the Program at any time. For material changes, we will provide 30 days' notice via in-app notification or email to existing users who have earned or are accruing referral rewards. We may terminate the Program at any time with 30 days' notice. Any earned rewards not yet paid at termination will be paid out within 14 days of the termination date.

9. Taxes

Referral rewards may constitute taxable income depending on your jurisdiction. You are solely responsible for reporting and paying any taxes on rewards you receive. Waiting may be required to report rewards to tax authorities above applicable thresholds.

10. Disputes

If you believe a referral reward was not correctly credited, contact support@peoplewhowait.com within 14 days of when the qualifying event occurred. Include your referral link, the Referred User's username (if known), and the approximate date of sign-up. Waiting's determination on referral disputes is final.
